                                Image Restoration Examples
Note: This page should not be confused with our Color Restoration Page which is what we automatically do for scanned slides, negatives and prints. This page gives details of additional work that can be done to touch up and restore your images.
Below are examples of our restoration work and how much it would cost to have each one restored. The prices on these pictures are to help you estimate how much your image may cost, but is not necessarily the price you would pay. We give you a free estimate before restoring any image and wait for your approval. If you have additional questions about our image restoration pricing, please call us or send us an email.

                                Tear Example 1 ($28)
                                Before
This image has been torn down the middle and is missing a portion of the bottom part of the picture.

Unfortunately, the tear goes through some detailed work (the edge of a woman's face and the lacy part of her dress).

                                Picture
                                After
The image has been "stitched" back together and the missing lower part reconstructed.

There is no noticeable damage in the lady's face or dress.

                                Tear Example 2 ($28)
                                Before
This image has been torn right through the important details of a woman's face and part of her blouse.

Though the image has been scanned with the pieces together, the tear damage is distracting and the woman's features are damaged.

                                After
The image has been restored and the woman's face is detailed and clear.

                                Tear Example 3 ($17)
This image has been torn through minor detail, but the damage is still distracting to the image.
                                Picture
The image has been repaired and is now very clear.

                                Developing Error Example ($22)
                                Before
The image was damaged in its original development, making one side of the image a lot more faded and a lot less clear than the other side.
                                Picture
                                After
The image has been repaired so that it appears to have been developed correctly.

                                Fading Example ($17)
                                Before
This black and white image has faded over the years and has become discolored.

The discoloration has hurt the integrity of some of the detail and makes the image look a little "flat"

While our standard editing process for black and white scans and negatives is good, the basic editing does not always fix problems caused by fading.

                                After
The image is much clearer and is restored to what it originally looked like.

                                Mold and Cracking Example ($55)
                                Before
This image has cracking and mold damage that is distracting.
                                Picture
                                After
The image has been cleaned up and is now clear.

                                Reconstruction Example ($55)
This image has extensive damage and much of the detail is missing and needs to be re-created.

                                Picture
Portions have been re-created and the image looks whole and clean again.
